My name is Zoë and I set up Woodlark Play and Creative Arts Therapy in 2018.  I am an Accredited Play and Creative Arts Therapist based in Stroud, and a trainee Clinical Supervisor.  I offer therapy to children and young people in and around Gloucestershire.   I am on the Register of Play and Creative Arts Therapists (PTUK) that has been accredited by the Professional Standards Authority. I receive regular Clinical Supervision and I adhere to PTUK’s ethical principles and clinical governance.  I am also a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP).

In addition to Play Therapy, I am also a Foundational Theraplay Practitioner and registered on the Theraplay Institute .  I also offer Child and Parent Relationship Training (CPRT) which is a ten week programme designed to enhance the parent child relationship and focuses on dedicated 30 minute playtimes between the parent and child each week.

I became a Play Therapist as I was concerned about the rise in mental health issues in children and young people and didn't think their needs were best met by short term interventions and solely talking therapies. I began to read more about brain development, attachment, trauma informed approaches, and discovered play therapy.  I continue to develop my practice and benefit from ongoing professional training and supervision.  I have experience working with children who have experienced trauma, abuse, witnessed domestic violence, children in care, children who are experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, low self esteem, suicide ideation, and children who are neurodivergent.
